Abstract

The Samaenre Bikeru Market area is a market area located in Sinjai Regency, precisely in Bikeru District, Sangiasseri Village which has a high level of traffic activity because this area is where economic activity occurs. Along the road in the market area is dominated by shopping activities, street vendors, on-street parking, loading and unloading activities and vehicles passing through the area during rush hour. There are no pedestrian facilities on the road in the market area. With such conditions, traffic problems arise in the form of traffic jams. There are several proposed problem solving skenarios to overcome the existing problems according to the study location. The analytical methods used in this research are road performance analysis, parking analysis, and pedestrian analysis. The analysis is carried out using primary data from the field and secondary data obtained from related agencies, journals and other sources that can be used as guidelines in solving problems at the study site. For the analysis of road performance using the calculation of the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) in which the results of the proposal will then be compared with the existing conditions. Based on the results of the analysis, the applied skenario can reduce the v/c ratio from 0.73 to 0.64 on the most problematic road sections in existing conditions. The skenarios implemented are relocating parking from on-street to off-street, controlling street vendors, limiting the operating hours of goods vehicles carrying out loading and unloading activities, as well as providing pedestrian facilities in the form of sidewalks and crossing facilities.
