Abstract

School transportation is a service to pick up students from school. This study aims to carry out operational planning for school transportation that can accommodate trips from certain gathering points to schools and vice versa and reduce the level of accidents that occur in students in the Lubuk Pakam Education Area. This research was conducted in 10 school locations in Lubuk Pakam District. The research was conducted using primary data collection methods, namely interview surveys of students and secondary data obtained from relevant government agencies. The analysis carried out is to determine the number of actual and potential requests, determine the type of fleet, route, scheduling, vehicle operating costs, and tariffsin the operation of school transportation. The results showed that the school transportation route was made in 3 alternative plans for route choices and for the type of fleet used was a small bus with a capacity of 19 passengers and 1 seat for the driver. The tariffs imposed in the school transport operation planning are imposed in the school transport operation plan, namely Route 1: Rp2,920/pnp-trip, Route 2: Rp1,515/pnp-trip, Route 3: Rp1,227/pnp-trip. The scheduling is divided into 2 shifts, namely the morning shift starting at 06:00 WIB and the afternoon shift starting at 13:30 WIB.
