Abstract

Pauh Lima Station, which is located on Jalan Alai Pauh V, Limau Manis Village, Pauh District, which is still part of the Regional Division II of West Sumatra. Pauh Lima Station is currently a station that serves freight trains. The purpose of this study is to follow up on the demand of the Pauh community by predicting the potential demand for passengers who want to use passenger trains from Pauhlima station as a means of daily transportation, as well as to determine the existing condition of passenger facilities at Pauhlima station and to plan the development of passenger service facilities at Pauhlima station. Pauhlima Station. This research is focused on planning the possibility of changing the Pauhlima freight station into a Pauhlima passenger station in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for the Transportation of People by Train. To achieve this objective, primary data was collected using the interview method of people living in the study area. Secondary data collection is done by taking data from the BPS office in the city of Padang. From the primary data, it is found that there are 1620 people who are willing to switch modes from other modes to the train mode. Based on observations at Pauhlima station, it is known that the existing condition of Pauhlima Station does not yet have service facilities for passengers (counters; waiting rooms with passenger seats; toilets; worship rooms; parking lots; lactation rooms). Judging from the great interest of the people living around Pauhlima station to use rail transportation to get to the city of Padang, the development of Pauhlima Station into a passenger station is worth considering.
