Abstract

An intersection is a meeting point for traffic flows from several directions with different characteristics at each flow so that it can trigger problems and potential traffic accidents. The Maleber intersection and the Hospital intersection are the savings with the worst performance in Ciamis Regency. Maleber intersection is an intersection with a degree of saturation of 0.61, a queue probability of 16%-33%, and a delay of 10.32 seconds/pcu. Meanwhile, the Hospital Intersection with a degree of saturation of 0.36, a queue length of 41.70 meters, and a delay of 76.80 seconds/pcu.In optimizing the intersection, therefore it is necessary to evaluate and optimize the performance of the intersection with indicators of queue length and delay time. In evaluating the performance of the intersection, it is carried out using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) and determining the type of intersection control, while for the analysis of optimizing the performance of the intersection, it is carried out using the PTV Vissim 2020 (SP 10) Student Version software.For the sake of creating smooth traffic performance, it is recommended to install APILL and adjust the APILL cycle time according to the performance of the existing intersection. Another suggestion was also made by giving a direct left turn rule at the foot of the intersection. In this way, an intersection with optimal performance is created.
