Abstract

The current traffic problem in the Balai Tangah Market Area, Tanah Datar Regency is that there are high obstacles on the road due to a decrease in road capacity as a result of buying and selling activities on the road. In the morning when school children and people go to work and in the peak afternoon it will increase congestion due to high traffic flow while at that time there is a narrowing of the road caused by indiscriminate parking and buying and selling and pedestrian conflicts with road users. others on Jl Raya Payakumbuh, Jl Sitangkai, and Jl Sungayang. The analytical method used in this study is to analyze the performance of the network, parking, and pedestrians. The analysis was carried out using primary data originating from the field and secondary data obtained from relevant agencies, books and journals which are other sources that can be used as guidelines in solving problems at the study site. To analyze the performance of the road network on the proposed handling is to use the application Contram transportation. The results of the current road network performance will be compared with the proposed treatment. In this study the network performance parameters used are network travel time, total distance traveled, travel speed, total queues, and fuel usage. From the results of the analysis using the Contram application, it is known that the proposed condition has improved compared to the current condition. Proposed handling is carried out by moving on-street parking to off-street, providing pedestrian facilities, relocating traders who sell on the road. It can be seen that there is an increase in the performance of the road network in the Balai Tangah Market Area which has a travel time of 1,183 vehicles/hour, a travel distance of 23,956 vehicle
