Abstract

The central business district of Palu City is the center of Palu City's community activities which is able to produce 107,641 trips/day and 1042 pedestrians/hour foot movement. The problem that occurs in the central business district of Palu City is the lack of pedestrian facilities which result in pedestrians not having a special space to move or obstacles. This causes traffic flow, and has a high risk of accidents. The purpose of this study is to identify traffic problems involving pedestrians, analyze the needs of pedestrian facilities, and recommend the need for pedestrian facilities with traffic flow conditions, the need for pedestrian facilities based on pedestrian flows, and analysis based on pedestrian preferences using the method interest performance analysis. The results of the analysis using a technical guideline approach are the lowest segment service level performance is E, the lowest pedestrian space service level is F so it is necessary to improve performance, as well as an approach based on pedestrian preferences stated from 17 service attributes, there are 9 attributes that are in quadrant I on the Cartesian diagram so that it becomes a top priority in the improvement proposal.
