Abstract

In this study, the traffic conditions at the level crossing of JPL No. 251 KM 130+338 on Jalan Karangwuni-Cawas-Jentir/Bts. Prov. DIY , JPL No. 274 KM 137+012 on Jalan Diponegoro, and JPL No. 283 KM 139+472 on the Jalan Kartini section, there are queue lengths and delays related to closing the level crossing gates. This study aims to determine the relationship between queues and delays that occur when the crossing gate is closed, then an evaluation is carried out related to the provisions of level crossings in accordance with the regulations. This research uses are search mix method. There are independent variables (duration of crossing gate closures) and dependent variables (queues and delays), with primary data collection carried out for 6 days and sample determination based on the highest frequency of trains passing through crossing gates. The analysis used in this research is Simple Linear Regression Analysis, and Queue Model Analysis. The results of this study were obtained, for the magnitude of the effect of the variable duration of crossing gate closure (X) on the variable delay time (Y) which is between 89.7%-99.8%, while the variable duration of closure (X) affects the variable queue length of vehicles. (Y) of 41.3%-99%. As for the Queue Model that is formed is M/M/1. Then the evaluation related to the provisions of level crossings, JPL No. crossings. 283 KM 139+472 is proposed to be upgraded to a non-level crossing.
