Abstract

Tegal regency is an area that has the potential for freight transportation and the area that becomes a cross-traffic route for freight transportation, it can be seen from the largest freight movement from the external zone to the external zone by 44% with the number of trips 22,248 vehicles per day. The movement of freight transport through Tegal Regency caused problems in the performance of the road network because it did not yet have a cross-freight network so that freight vehicles were free to choose routes and operate not in accordance with the road class which caused damage to the pavement. The purpose of this study was to identify the performance of the road network before and after the establishment of the freight traffic network. This analysis required data in the form of data on freight movement patterns and Tegal Regency road network data. To plan the freight traffic network, three alternative proposals were made, the selection of proposals is done by comparing the performance of the best road network. Based on the results of the analysis obtained the performance of the existing road network has an average speed of 36.40 km / h, the average travel length of 1,348.16 km and an average travel time of 34.82 hours. Based on the selected proposal, namely proposal two, it is known that the road network performance has an average speed value of 37.91 km / h, an average travel length of 1,327.46 km, and an average travel time of 33.04 hours.
