Abstract

Safety is an aspect that is emphasized in the provision of services by railroad transportation, where the railway itself is a unified system consisting of infrastructure, facilities and human resources, as well as norms, criteria, requirements and procedures for the implementation of rail transportation, in accordance stated in Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways. Ensuring the safety of all passengers using rail transportation services without exception is mandatory. The existence of evacuation access in an emergency situation on the facility aims to remove all passengers from the facility and at the same time keep passengers away if the dangerous situation originates from within the railroad facility itself. The research method used in this study is comparative analysis, SWOT, and the use of independent sample T-tests. The results of the study show that there is a significant difference between the use of the emergency door only and the use of the side door of the train, so that optimization of the use of the side door of the train in the process of evacuating passengers in the middle of the traffic can be used but in considerations that have been made and not just to open all of them. The results of this study also include scenarios used in emergency evacuations as considerations along with passenger priorities that can take priority in evacuation.
