Abstract

Backgrounds: Accident figures in Pasuruan Regency show that in the last 5 years (2018-2022) there have been 5,770 accidents with the severity of the victims including 1,457 people dead, 514 people seriously injured, and 6383 people lightly injured. In accordance with data obtained from the Pasuruan Regency Traffic Unit. In the last 5 years, the Pasuruan City Border - Probolinggo Regency Border road section located in Rejoso District was ranked second with a total of 45 accidents with the severity of the victims including 22 people died, 0 people were seriously injured, and 49 people were slightly injured. Objective: Therefore, efforts are being made to assess potential safety risks and recommendations for handling this road section to reduce the number of accidents that occur. Method: Efforts to assess potential safety risks are carried out using the HIRADC method, road safety inspections and clear zones. An analysis of the chronology of accidents, speed and visibility was also carried out. Result: After carrying out the analysis, it was discovered that the main factor in accidents that occurred in the accident-prone area of Rejoso was the human factor, there were still many potential hazards and the condition of the road sections still had many indicators that did not comply with roadworthy standards. From this analysis, measures will be taken to improve safety for road users crossing the area.
