Abstract

Probolinggo Regency has a market located in the Dringu District. The Dringu Market area is one of the places where daily trading activities of the community take place. In the Dringu Market area, there are several issues that have resulted in a decline in the performance of the Dringu road section, such as on-street parking of loading and unloading vehicles on the arterial road shoulder, the presence of street vendors on the road shoulder, a lack of pedestrian facilities, and a lack of traffic signs. To address these issues, an assessment of the existing conditions of the road section's performance, parking conditions, and pedestrian facilities in the Dringu Market area will be conducted. After analyzing the existing conditions, the following results were obtained: vehicle volume of 2605 pcu/hour, V/C ratio of 0.84, speed of 29.11 km/hour, density of 89.5 pcu/km, and very high side friction with a level of service F. Based on the analysis, proposals for problem-solving are provided by comparing the road section's performance before and after implementing the proposed solutions. This analysis is conducted using the Indonesian Highway Study Guidelines (Pedoman Kajian Jalan Indonesia or PKJI). From the analysis of the existing conditions, the proposed solutions include the relocation of off-street motorcycle parking to vacant land, the relocation of on-street loading and unloading parking to off-street areas, the implementation of operational hours for loading and unloading vehicles, the provision of pedestrian facilities, and the installation of traffic signs in the Dringu Market area.
