Abstract

One of the things that can support the student learning process is safe and secure transportation facilities and infrastructure that can connect students' homes to schools. However, in the Strategy Plan (Renstra) of the Probolinggo City Transportation Agency in 2019-2024 it is stated that there is still a lack of provision of facilities, infrastructure and road equipment to increase the number of safe driving on the road. The purpose of this study is to determine travel routes that can provide a sense of security and safety for students to go from home to school located in Kedopok District. Interviews were conducted with students of SDN 1 Kedopok, SD SMP Integral Hidayatullah, and SMKN 1 Probolinggo to obtain the Origin Destination (OD Matrix) which was used to see the distribution of students divided into 17 zones based on urban villages in Probolinggo City. The Safe Routes to School (RASS) concept is based on closer distances and shorter travel times for pedestrians and cyclists and public transport routes based on existing routes. The recommended pedestrian facilities are sidewalks on segments of Jalan Bengawan Solo 2, Jalan Mastrip 1 and Jalan Mastrip 2 and zebra crossings for crossings on Jalan Mastrip. The proposed cycling facilities are type C bicycle lanes on the roadside on Jalan Mastrip 1, Jalan Mastrip 2, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, and Jalan Anggur. Drop zone/pick up point facilities are provided at each school, as well as the addition of 2 bus stops on Jalan Mastrip adjacent to SDN 1 Kedopok, and SD SMP Integral Hidayatullah.
