Abstract
The Pandaan Market area of Pasuruan Regency has a complex land use including trade, offices, industry, education, sports and recreation areas. As a result, one of the roads in the area has the highest v/c ratio of 0.80 and the lowest average speed of 19.35 km/hour. It is also caused by various factors such as parking, loading and unloading activities, and street vendors' stalls on the road. To overcome this, a study entitled "Efforts to Improve Traffic Performance in the Pandaan Market Area, Pasuruan Regency" is recommended, which aims to propose traffic management solutions to support smooth and safe traffic and as a consideration in future policy making. The method of this research is to analyse traffic performance in the Market Area. The indicators used in section performance are v/c ratio, speed and density while the intersection performance indicators are DJ, queuing opportunities and delays. The analysis was carried out using MKJI 1997 and PKJI 2023 analysis. Furthermore, the proposed traffic arrangement in the Pandaan Market Area is carried out by analysing the performance of sections, intersection performance, parking demand, and pedestrians. With the proposed restrictions on freight transport operating hours, relocation of on street parking to off street, provision of pedestrian facilities, and relocation of street vendors, there is an increase in traffic performance in the Pandaan Market Area.
