Abstract

The ticket purchasing facility on KRL currently uses the Tap Card method as access to enter stations when traveling on Electric Rail Trains (KRL services). At Cibinong Station, the gate of this service facility has a very large queue of exiting passengers when entering the afternoon rush hour. So the availability of gates at Cibinong Station is prioritized for outgoing passengers while incoming passengers wait in the station hall. Cibinong Station is a small station that has the highest volume of incoming and outgoing passengers on its route with a passenger percentage growth of 65%. So it is necessary to evaluate optimal tap gate needs at Cibinong Station to reduce passenger queues that occur. The method used in this research uses passenger forecast analysis to determine the increase in passengers, especially during peak hours in the next 5 years. Then use queuing theory with Windows QM software to get the optimal number of gates. Based on the results of the analysis, the current availability of tap gate devices at Cibinong Station cannot serve the queues well. So it is necessary to add 5 tap gate devices by 2029 so that passenger queues at Cibinong Station can be reduced.
