Abstract

Railways are a mode of transportation that has special characteristics and advantages, especially in its ability to transport both passengers and goods en masse, is energy efficient, saves space, has a high safety factor and low pollution levels and is more efficient than other modes of transportation. roads for long-distance transportation and for areas with dense traffic such as urban transportation. On the Purwosari - Wonogiri route, which is classified as class V according to the road class classification guidelines in PM 60 of 2012, the maximum speed should be 80 km/hour, but according to GAPEKA (Train Travel Chart) in 2023, the speed that can be operated is only reaching 20-30 Km/hour for passenger trains and that will also result in increased travel time. Therefore, this research is intended with the aim of analyzing operating speeds in order to obtain results from which road plots can be increased in speed, making recommendations or suggestions related to reducing train travel time on the Purwosari - Wonogiri route. This type of research is also supported by several literatures such as ministerial regulations, journals and internet sites. This research uses several analyses, namely analysis of train travel time for each road plot, analysis of train operating speed for each road plot, and analysis of train traffic capacity for each road plot. This analysis is used to determine the geometric conditions of the railway for each road plot, where with the results of this analysis it will be possible to know on which road plot the operating speed can be accelerated and this will result in shorter headway times and more effective travel times. Keywords: Operation speed, travel time, road plot.
