Abstract

In order to keep the worth of railway operation, it is necessary to do regular maintenance on KRDE. The KRDE needs to do maintenance by daily, monthly, three-monthly, six-monthly, 12-monthly (one year) maintenance as well as engine maintenance, there are 250 hour, 500 hour, 1000 hour, 1500 hour and 6000 hour maintenance. However, as time passes, there were problems discovered with KRDE’s three-monthly maintenance. This research aims to analyse and evaluate maintenance staffs necessity at the Depo Lokomotif Bandung and analyse the buffer stock for fast moving parts based on buffer stock analysis. Doing observation of KRDE maintenance activities and interviews with Depo Lokomotif Bandung’s staff are methods for collecting data for this research. Based on the analysis that has been done, Depo Lokomotif Bandung needs to increase the number of locomotives and KRDE maintenance staffs and provides the buffer stock of spare parts to prevent stock outs.
