Abstract

Balai Perawatan Perkeretaapian is a place for maintaining special state-owned facilities in charge of carrying out repairs so that these facilities are ready for operation. The treatment includes daily, one-monthly, six-monthly, and twelve-monthly maintenance. To support maintenance activities, reliable and competent maintenance personnel are needed in their fields. In addition, the equipment also determines the outcome of the treatment. If there is treatment that is not in accordance with the standard, it will interfere with the treatment process To overcome these problems, the method used is to identify the needs for maintenance personnel, facilities, and work equipment for locomotive maintenance in accordance with the Instruction Manual and checksheets to determine the needs of employees, both in number and quality of competencies that should be possessed by maintenance personnel. It is recommended that Balai Perawatan Perkeretaapian immediately issue a calculation of employee needs so that it can be used as a reference for future research. And it is hoped that in the future it can carry out maintenance independently in accordance with the calculation of the workload without assistance from third parties, if there is a shortage of employees in its implementation, employee recruitment can be carried out.
