Abstract

Trains in South Sulawesi operate on the Maros-Labakkang-Barru Garongkong line with a track length of 80 km. The operating passenger facilities are Electric Diesel Rail Trains (KRDE). There are 10 stations operating to serve boarding and alighting passengers. Safety facilities at the station include Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR), evacuation route instructions, evacuation procedures, emergency telephone numbers, medicines, wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen cylinders, lighting on switchboards, platforms, platform canopies, and assembly points. The existing condition of the safety facilities at the station on the Maros-Labakkang-Barru-Garongkong route was found to be inconsistent with the applicable regulations, so it is necessary to evaluate it to improve the safety facilities at the station. The analysis method used in this study is determining the station classes, identifying the existing conditions of safety facilities at stations and making comparisons with PM 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards for the Transport of People by Train. Station class analysis is performed to determine a new station class. The analysis of the existing condition of safety facilities is carried out to find out the actual situation and the availability of safety facilities at the station. Analysis of minimum service standards is carried out to determine the condition of safety facilities against the applicable regulations. The analysis results show that all stations on the Maros-Labakkang-Barru-Garongkong route are small stations. The available safety facilities at the station are fire extinguishers, evacuation route instructions, medicines, wheelchairs, stretchers, platforms, platform canopies, safety lines, and guiding blocks. Safety facilities that are not yet available include evacuation procedures, emergency telephone numbers, oxygen cylinders, switch lighting, and assembly points Keywords:Train, Railway Station, The Safety Facilities
