Abstract

Purwakarta Regency consists of 17 sub-districts, 9 villages, and 189 villages, from 17 sub-districts in Purwakarta Regency there are 3 sub-districts that are not served by rural transportation, namely Cibatu Sub-district, Campaka Sub-district and Sukasari Sub-district, then there is 1 other sub-district, Kiara Pedes, which is served by the route but in reality the transportation does not enter Kiara Pedes Sub-district. This research uses descriptive research methods with a quantitative approach. The quantitative approach leads to the use of mathematical models, theories and hypotheses. The data sources used are secondary data and primary data. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The research instruments used were interview guidelines and field notes. From the results of the potential demand analysis, it is known that the amount of interest in moving people in the 3 sub-districts of the study area from the use of private vehicles to rural transportation modes is 570 people from a total sample of 587. Then, from a total of 3 alternative patterns, the best pat tern is alternative pattern 2, because only with 3 routes but alternative pattern 2 can serve the entire zone of the study area. There needs to be a role of local government in meeting the needs of public services to public transportation in the study area. To improve the level of public transport services, the suggestions given can be taken into consideration in the implementation of public transport services in the study area.
