Abstract

Buitan is a national road that connects from Klungkung Regency to Amlapura City, where Amlapura City is the capital of Karangasem Regency which of course has a fairly high number of movements. The Buitan Highway is an accident-prone area with a total of 60 accident cases in 2016 - 2020 (Karangasem District Police, 2021). With this, the Buitan Road section must get attention regarding the safety support facilities available on this road section. This is intended to improve safety services for road users. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that cause accidents to the incidence of accidents on the Buitan section, evaluate the suitability of the Buitan Highway as a safe road and provide recommendations for efforts to improve the safety of the Buitan section. Data analysis using correlation with SPSS program and collision diagram The main factors causing accidents are humans (68%), the highest type of vehicle involved is motorcycle (47%), the highest type of front collision (41%) and the highest accident time with a time range of 12.00-18.00 (46%) This road has 2 blackspots, +STA 0+150 (4 accidents) and +STA 150+ 300 (7 accidents). Recommend installation of signs, renewel of markings and repair of guard rails.
