Abstract

The Central Business District (CBD) area in Balangan Regency is the center of community activities where these activities are in the form of buildings, offices and schools. The high attraction to these friends raises various problems, especially in the field of transportation. These problems include the presence of on-street parking on the Ahmad Yani National road, the less than optimal pedestrian facilities on the Merdeka street and the existence of traders selling on the sidewalk and shoulder of the road, where these problems cause the capacity of each road segment to decrease. Therefore, this study aims to show the performance of existing sections, provide traffic engineering proposals and show the performance of road sections after traffic engineering proposals. The traffic engineering proposals given are the transfer of on-street parking to off�street on the Ahmad Yani road, additional pedestrian facilities on the Merdeka street and prohibition of selling on sidewalks and road shoulders. With these proposals, after being compared with the existing performance, it is seen that the performance of the road sections, namely capacity, v/c ratio, speed and density, is increasing.
