Abstract

Access management is a crucial effort in optimizing traffic performance in certain areas, especially in high-traffic volume regions. This study discusses the implementation of access management involving the restriction of vehicle volume entering commercial and educational areas in Purwakarta Regency. The access management strategies applied include intersection performance evaluation, implementation of an odd-even system, and limiting the operational hours of freight transport. The analysis was conducted by modeling each proposed recommendation into the PTV VISSIM application scenario. The results show that these measures are effective in increasing travel speed, reducing delays, and improving road network performance. Therefore, proper access management implementation can be a solution to traffic congestion problems and enhance transportation efficiency in densely trafficked areas. This study provides practical recommendations for local governments to implement similar strategies in other regions with comparable traffic characteristics.
