Abstract

In general, the city of Banjarmasin has a fairly good road network and accessibility. Where almost all roads in Banjarmasin City can still accommodate traffic flow quite well. The performance of Ahmad Yani street which is located in the shopping and office area based on the results of visual observations in the field has an average vehicle volume that is relatively high. So that the provision and improvement of pedestrian facilities is necessary and must be done, this is because pedestrians are the holders of the most important position or priority in traffic if mixed with the flow of vehicle traffic. The non-conformity of provision is due to the absence of an approach to providing facilities that take into account environmental characteristics as well as pedestrian behavior and preferences. On the other hand, the development of pedestrian infrastructure is also faced with limited space on the road. With conditions that require pedestrians to mix with vehicles on the road, this can have the potential to cause conflicts that will affect the safety of road users, both from the pedestrian side and the motorist side and will affect the smooth flow of traffic. As for the research, the analysis methods used are Pedestrian Facility Service Level Analysis, Pedestrian Facility Needs Level Analysis and Walkability Index Assessment Analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, the recommendations in this effort are in the form of proposals for pedestrian facilities both along and across the road. With the existence of pedestrian facilities, a safe, comfortable, fast, economical condition will be created free from other road user disturbances such as vehicle traffic flow.
