Abstract

Before the certification of railway human resources, the number of train accidents was higher than after the certification of railway human resources. Looking at the number of incidents and the causes, it can be concluded that railway human resource certifikation has a substantial impact on train operations safety. This research employs independent sample test approach to determine the impact of the two factors. The certification of railway human resources is the independent variabel, and the safety of train operations is the dependent variabel. The population used is 5 (five) years before railways human resource certification an 10 (ten) years after railway human resource certification. Railway operators must have a certificate / proof of passing certification before performing their job. A sequence of certification processes carried out in compliance with applicable legislation and using specific evaluation criteria. Because of the significant impact of railway HR certification on train operations safety, it is recommended that railway HR continue to improve their competencies by participating in Education and Training and extending certification before the certificate's validity period reaches the specified time limit.
