Abstract

The mobilities of state-owned rail and slings to the Railway parking area on Balai Perawatan Perkeretaapian (railway Maintenance Center of Ministry of Transportation), requires special attention and handling to minimized errors on its implementation that can endanger the operator or damage the facilities. According to that, in this study we use a SWOT to analyze mobilities of the rails. It was found that there was no Standard Operating Procedure or written SOP for these activities. The result of this research, produces SOPs for the movement of rails and SOPs for slings of the rails to provide written guidelines and implementation instructions, clarifying the activities, duties and responsibilities of the parties that involved. The SOPs was made to ensure the flow process and activities of rail movemend and slings are suitable to minimize the errors.
